a busy week

It’s been a busy time here, the weather has stayed good and so I have continued working on the outside getting my front verandah looking spiffy hopefully in time for Christmas! I’ve finished painting the weatherboards, done one coat on the decking and now just have a final coat to go! It’s looking really good! I’m so happy with it! I’ve also decided to paint the front door in a beautiful, you guessed it………BLUE!! That’s pretty funny considering the whole house was blue before! So….. Very soon, once the door is done and I’ve got it all set up I will post a full blog about it with all the before & after pictures.

Thanks to everyone who as been following my blog 🙂 I have really appreciated the comments and am thrilled that you are joining me on the journey. I am loving blogging…… Who would have thought it would be soooooo addictive. I’ve spent a bit of time reading loads of other blogs too which is fabulous especially as it has made me realise I’m not alone with my house obsession!!!! There are plenty of you out there 😉

Till next time……

out we go….

With the weather improving (ever so slightly), tools have been put down inside for awhile and we have started on the outside. Such a massive job, where to begin!!!!?

Well for starters the garden is completely overgrown with weeds and renovation junk which all needs to be cleared and the weatherboards on this side of the house need some serious attention. The decision was made that rather than sanding and scraping and losing weeks of my life, we would just replace the boards with new ones! Yay…..less work for me!!!

So…… Enter resident chippy to do the job!

Myself as apprentice 😉

And a few of the crew to lend a hand and rip those old boards off!

All in a days work the weatherboards were replaced.

Followed by a wee bit of paint, some serious weeding and clearing and a bit of verandah demolition!

I am really happy with how it is all looking, can’t wait to get stuck into the verandah area and get some plant love happening in those garden beds that I forgot we had!!!

More to come……

vintage beauty

I’ve been busy working on my house with more posts on that to come, but today I want to share with you a beautiful little beach cottage that is for sale in McCrae. It is just gorgeous and sure did give me an extreme case of house envy!! I’m guessing that there has been a lot of interest in it as it was originally “for sale” and is now going to auction. If you want the details, click on the link HERE which will take you directly to the listing.

This house has been styled to perfection!! I just love it, so beachy & vintage and relaxed!!!

I absolutely love the light fitting in the living room which has been up-cycled from an old cray net (I think that’s what they are called!) I also love the fireplace which looks to me like it might be concrete that has been brushed. Brilliant!

Check out the vintage light fittings in the dining area and the gorgeous limed floorboards. Fabulous french doors open out to a great deck and let in loads of natural light.

A galley style kitchen with open shelving has my little heart pounding. I love open shelving in the kitchen and in this kitchen I think the doors at the end are perfect. They just invite you out to the garden, if you can get past that little seat without making yourself too comfy!!

The bathroom is a winner. I could spend hours in there just looking at the shower. How cool is the shower base? They have really done this well.

This house has captured my heart. An awful lot of thought has been put into the presentation and I am guessing that many many hours of searching for all of those unique vintage pieces has kept the owners busy. I could see myself living there quite happily for the rest of my days……. Plenty of room for a vege patch AND it comes with what I am told is the essential mancave!!

Perfect 😉

on the market

My house addiction continues! I spend a lot of time on the internet on real estate sites checking out properties for sale. I dream of owning them all and what I would do to them if I did own them. It’s also a great way to get ideas to use at a later date!!

My dream is to live on the Mornington Peninsula one day. Wouldn’t mind having a look at this house on the weekend except I have to work!!! Click the link here to check it out for yourself.

My favourite bits…… Hmmmm, love the land! Love the entry and the mudbrick, love the bright and airy living room. If I had this house I would build a big open shelter shed in the back yard with a BBQ built in and a big long dining table. Perfect for family and friends dining outside in the summer months AND there is enough room for a big sleep over!

I’ll keep dreaming…………
