the hardest day

I think that I can honestly say that today has been the hardest day of my life!! Today I said goodbye to my little girl as she heads off to New York for the next 13 months on a working holiday. I knew I was going to feel sad about her going but I certainly didn’t expect to feel quite as overwhelmed as I did!!

I know in my heart that she is going to be just fine….. Better than fine actually!!! She is such an amazing young lady, she can do anything she puts her mind to. As parents we put so much effort into raising our children to be incredible adults and she is certainly that!! I am just going to miss her so very much. I will miss not having her in my day every day 😦 Looking forward to our first Skype session later this week.

So tomorrow is a new day…… Everything will be just fine. A massive thank you to my beautiful friends and family for all their love and support over the past few days and especially today. I’m feeling so much better tonight thanks to all of you!! Thanks to Steve for taking some really lovely pictures…..

Daisy…. I love you more than you could ever know! As hard as it is to share the joy of you with the world I know I have to. I will wait patiently for you to come home and will love hearing of your adventures in the meantime. Be kind & keep your heart open xxx

  1. Wow that must have been hard but what a fantastic opportunity! I hope my boys show the same sense of adventure:-)

  2. Tears were shed reading that Clare! – You should be so very proud of Miss D….I am sure she will excel in her adventures in the US and have lots of stories to tell on her return. Big Hugs to you special Lady, what a wonderful Mum YOU are and what a gorgeous (inside and out!) girl you have raised 🙂 xoxoxox

  3. Oh Clare, I can only imagine how difficult that must have been for you. Daisy is a beautiful young woman and somehow I sense that she knows how lucky she is to be your daughter. In fact your whole family is gorgeous! So glad that you’ve been able to talk with her – that must help a bit. Wishing you all the best, Terri
