There has been quite a bit of excitement at #theshed this week! Firstly we hired some scaff so I could finally get up high enough to finish the top of the wall in the stair well …
The sun is shining down on me right now with a number of things falling into place! Quite some time ago I found THE perfect cupboard to add to our bathroom at #theshed but I needed to wait until things were in place so I could properly measure the space and make sure it fit! Well that’s what we did this week. My gorgeous girl Jess came down to help me for a couple of days and amongst other jobs, we measured it and decided it would fit… To be honest if it didn’t I had a back up plan – I loved it so much! And to really seal the deal it was on sale with free delivery!!!
So I purchased it online from sage + clare AND they delivered it to me today – yep that’s right!! Today! SATURDAY!! Not a courier – they delivered it themselves!
This is not a sponsored post by any means but you know I just love when people love what they do and have such a passion for their business that it shines through in every aspect! Phoebe & Chris have been an absolute pleasure to deal with! So … I highly recommend that you hop over to their website and have a look. You won’t be disappointed! Click here to be taken straight to the website!!
I still have a little to do before I show you where this gorgeous piece will live so I won’t show you right now but here is an image off my Pinterest.
So I had to work today and Richo was left to busy himself with our list of jobs to do…
I called in after work to measure up a space in the bathroom to put a vintage cupboard I have found and just love!! Anyway…. I was surprised to see he had done the vanity!! I can’t even tell you how happy I am with it. It has been a vision in my head for so long and finally it’s real!! Just had to share a peek…. It’s not finished but I think this week is going to be the most transforming!!
Another couple of weeks has passed and we are making steady progress at #theshed. The kitchen cabinets are almost all done and in place and the benchtops have been measured up! I am so happy with the design and can’t wait to show you the finished result!!
Doesn’t look very exciting right now but it will!!
ALL the floor tiles are finally done with just a bit of grouting to go. Richo has done such a good job with them, they look absolutely amazing and flow beautifully all the way through the house. Bathroom is waterproofed and the wall tiles have started in there… And the beginning of the vanity!
I should also note that we now have a proper toilet inside – there were a few hiccups with this but sorted out by our award winning apprentice plumber, Travis, without me having to worry about anything.
This weekend I have done lots of tidying up jobs and of course my amazing mum has helped me paint!
My boy Charlie and our friend Jamie have almost finished the front steps. Just the finishing touches to go.
I think it’s been a hard week this week … For me anyway. There just seems to have been a lot of “side steps” and mess and not much in the way of progress. Richo & I have been very busy though and although it may not look like much has changed this week we are all set now for lots of changes next week. I think also when things feel a little messy around me my stress levels go up which makes me feel worse.
Lucky for me though I had my “A team” on hand helping this weekend with my big list of jobs that needed doing and everything got done!!
My mum and dad even got stuck into the yard and did a massive tidy up so now it almost looks like a proper house!
Next week will be HUGE! The garage door will be fitted, kitchen finished off, and we will make a good start on the bathroom. Maybe even lay the timber floors upstairs! I will have to juggle it in around work this week which will be tricky.
Anyway… We have finished the week really well … And that is definite PROGRESS!!
Today I am struggling. I am tired and dirty. I need to get my hair done and my eyebrows sorted out. I feel nothing like me!
I am surrounded by mess and chaos and mountains of work to be done and I feel totally overwhelmed. I feel like it’s never going to end….
But it is. And it will be worth every bit of effort. Tomorrow will feel better I’m sure 😉
This week we have got cracking with the tiling and it is looking amazing. We got the grouting done in the kitchen, laundry & living room all ready for the kitchen delivery.
It’s been a massive job and I think we will still have a few days left to finish the floors. By the end of the day on Friday both Richo & I were happy to finish because it felt like we had been tiling for weeks not days!! The kitchen was delivered this week and Steve spent the day yesterday putting it together.
We will get a little more done today but not planning a big day. I feel like I have a cold or something coming on and I really need to do some housework here at the #mentalrental. Never enough hours in the day 😉
